Curriculum

Hands‑on astronomy for classrooms and clubs — from first moon craters to narrowband nebulae.

Moon close-up

Introductory: Our Solar System & Beyond

Beginner-friendly, 90‑minute session using our remote telescope: the Moon, Jupiter & Saturn, plus constellation storytelling and sketching.

Colorful emission nebula

Advanced: Nebulae Through Filters

A deep dive into LRGB/SHO imaging. Compare Hα, OIII, and SII to infer composition; build observations into short presentations.

Sample Modules & Slides

Each item includes a 1–2 sentence overview and a direct download.
Comet tail in night sky

Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS)

Context, discovery timeline, and a live‑session guide. Great for discussing comet physics and planning observations near perihelion windows.

Spiral galaxy

Exploring the Unknown: Aliens (SETI)

A discussion deck on the Fermi paradox, Drake equation, and observing ethics. Pair with a Moon or Andromeda live view to ground debate in data.

How sessions run

1. Prep

Pick a module, skim the slides, and choose 2–3 targets. We’ll confirm visibility from Yunnan.

2. Connect

Join the remote telescope session; students take turns slewing, focusing, and capturing frames.

3. Capture

Record observations by filter or target. Export data for later processing or class reports.

4. Reflect

Quick share‑outs: what did we see, measure, or infer? Line up next targets or extensions.
